The Chasm

…is at the beginning. Kinda catchy, right? Maybe, but whether or not it is, it’s what I’ve decided to title my first post. This post–this site, even–marks my first real foray onto the internet. No, this isn’t my first time typing a search into Google, nor is it my first time managing a website. It’s not my first expedition into the concept of owning a domain or poking about in the world of IT. It’s not my first time writing an article or even my first time bringing a server to the web. No, this post marks the first time that I, myself, have reached out into the tiny sliver of the internet that’s not the Dark Web and planted a flag saying “I’m here, and here’s what I have”.

Now that’s not to say that this site will be a platform for grandiose ideas or products, insightful views on society and politics, or even engaging content. I’m not 100% sure what this site will become, or even if it will become anything at all. I know what I want from it (mostly personal, back-end technical things) but in the meantime it might make sense to have a home on the internet. So without further ado, my name is MantaRei, and welcome to the MantaChasm.
